Alison Hunter
Anna Stunkel - AnnaStunkelArt.squarespace.com
Anna began classes with me when she was in 3rd grade and continued until she graduated from high school. She was always passionate about wild life , and her animal portraits quickly developed into detailed, delicate illustrations. I encouraged her to try all mediums, and she became quite proficient with colored pencils. Anna received an Art scholarship to the College of the Atlantic
After spending last September studying and tagging birds on the Maine coast, she created colored pencil portraits of them and exhibited those drawings in the college gallery . Now she has written a book about those birds and illustrated it with 12 of her beautiful drawings. Her book is on sale at The Natural History Center in Bar Harbor, Maine and my studio! Anna graduated in 2013 and was awarded the W.H.Drury, Jr. Prize in Natural History! She's now employed at the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory in Sausalito, California . She continues to develop her artistic talents sketching raptors and other birds of California. |
